About Us

Asbury Transportation is one of the oldest transportation companies in the U.S. Our original operating certificate was issued by the I.C.C. in 1922. Headquartered in Bakersfield, California, our operation is strategically located to provide transportation and logistic services to California, Arizona, and Nevada.

Flatbed Truckload: This fleet operates 22 tractors and 110 trailers. In addition to standard flatbed trailers, we have drop decks, double drops, low beds, and stretch trailers. This allows us to handle over width, over height, and long loads. Projects that require special permits or escort services are also available. We also have two hydro crane tractors that can off load equipment at job sites.

Our drivers are certified, licensed, highly skilled, and experienced

in hauling flatbed freight. Our drivers also carry TWIC cards for port and dock loads. Our management staff has experience in many industries. Safety and quality customer service are key goals for us. Our people are experienced to assist you with whatever your requirements are.

Expedited or “Hot Shot” Services: With trailers up to 38 feet, our hot shot trucks can carry up to 23,000 lbs. This is ideal when you have small loads or if you need fast service.

Logistical Support: We operate a 45-acre yard that is ideal for materials that can be stored outside. We provide full loading/unloading, storage, and inventory services. The yard also has a rail siding and is accessible by both the BNSF &  Union Pacific railroads. This allows our customers to transport large quantities of materials, have them stored in our yard, and then distributed to their customers. We also have access to warehouse space if you need indoor storage.

Meet The Staff

Rick Boyer - President

Rick took over as President of Asbury in 1991. He immediately put together a plan to grow the company by providing high quality and logistic services. This is actually Rick's second time with Asbury. He was previously a supervisor from 1979 to 1983. From 1983 to 1991, Rick was the General Manager for Pipeline Trucking.

Rolando Ramos - Dispatcher

Born and raised in Bakersfield, CA. Rolando graduated from Foothill High School in 1990. Rolando has been in the transportation industry in one form or another since 1991 with 10 years as a dispatcher. He became part of the Asbury team in August 2005, and brings a variety of experience from local trucking to 48 states logistics.
 

Eric Mullen - Maintenance & Safety Supervisor

Eric grew up in the Bakersfield area and attended local schools. Since graduating from North High School in 1977, he has worked in the trucking and oilfield industries in the Kern County area. Before joining the Asbury Transportation team in April of 2005, he worked in the hazardous waste/spill cleanup industry for 8 years as a truck driver and field supervisor.

Jim Fagan - Logistics Supervisor

An employee for 18 years, Jim has served in many positions. He has worked in the trucking industry for 21 years, but has worked in transportation for over 30 years. Prior to working at Asbury, Jim was employed by Southern Pacific Transportation, Pipeline Trucking, and H & B Equipment. In 1994 he took over the supervision of the maintenance and safety functions of the company. In 1999, he was given the responsibility for the supervision of our 45 acre storage yard.

Mary Korn - Logistics Coordinator

Mary has several years experience in the Oil Field industries. She has been an Asbury employee since 1994. Previously, she had worked at B & B Surplus and Western Continental. Mary is responsible for our Logistics Accounts, handling customer service and inventory control.

Betsy Dunkel - Administrative Assistant

Another veteran of the transportation business, Betsy came to Asbury in 1996. Her 19 years in the industry has given her broad experience in all areas of transportation management. She had previously worked at Kern Backhoe Service and KVS Transportation. Betsy handles the financial and personnel departments.
